Codex Bestiarum (the "App") is a folklore game. This policy explains what data the App handles. In short: the App does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.

1. Data we do NOT collect

We do not collect name, email, location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or usage data. The App contains no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers, and requires no account.

2. Data stored on your device

Game progress and settings are stored only locally on your device and are never sent to us or to third parties. Uninstalling the App removes this data. The Backup feature creates a copy of your save that you choose to copy or share: no backup data passes through our servers.

3. Internet connection

The App uses the network for only two purposes, and never sends personal data:

  • Optional HD image pack: if you choose to download it, the App requests static image files from our server koghisoft.it. As with any web request, the server may record the IP address and device type in technical logs, used only for operation and security — not for profiling.
  • In-app purchase: the optional purchase ("Keeper's Seal") is handled entirely by Google Play. Payment is processed by Google; the App neither sees nor stores payment data.

4. Permissions

  • Internet: image-pack download and purchases.
  • Notifications: local reminders (e.g. Creature of the Day, completed activities), generated on-device. There is no push-notification server.
  • Run at boot: to re-schedule local reminders after the phone restarts.
  • Vibration: in-game haptic feedback.
  • Billing (Google Play): for the in-app purchase.

5. Text-to-Speech

Reading some texts aloud uses your device operating system's text-to-speech service. It is a device feature; the App does not send the texts to us.

6. Children

The App does not collect personal data from any user, including children.

7. Third-party services

The only third parties involved are Google Play (distribution and in-app payments) and our static-content host koghisoft.it (optional images). Google's respective policies apply.

8. Changes
