KT9 Keyboard — Privacy Policy

KT9 Keyboard ("the app") is an Android keyboard (Input Method) developed by Koghisoft. Privacy is a design principle: the keyboard works fully offline and no personal or typing data ever leaves your device.

Summary

  • No data collected, no data shared. We do not collect, transmit, or sell any data.
  • Everything stays on your device. Learned words, usage frequencies, personal dictionary,

abbreviations, blocked words, quick phrases and settings are stored locally only.

  • No account, no cloud, no ads, no analytics or tracking SDK integrated by us. The only

exception is technical and limited to payments: the Google Play Billing library, required for the in-app purchase, ships Google's own telemetry about the SDK itself. It never sees, receives or transmits anything you type.

Data the app processes (on-device only)

Like any keyboard, the app processes the text you type to provide suggestions. This processing happens entirely on the device. To improve prediction, the app may store locally:

  • the words you use and their frequency, context (bigrams/trigrams) and time of day;
  • your personal dictionary, favorite words, abbreviations, blocked words and quick phrases;
  • the clipboard history: the keyboard reads the clipboard only while it is open, and by default

the history is kept in memory only and disappears when the keyboard closes. It is saved on the device only if you turn on Keep clipboard history. Text that apps mark as sensitive, text copied while typing in a password field, and text shaped like a one-time code or a card number is never recorded;

  • anonymous usage statistics (how many words, how many corrections, how often the first

suggestion is right), without any of the content you type;

  • your keyboard settings (theme, languages, layout, etc.).

This data is kept in the app's internal storage, is never sent to any server and is excluded from Android's automatic backup. You can delete it anytime in Settings → Privacy & data → Personal data → Backup & restore, section Delete (what the keyboard learned, the personal dictionary, or all personal data).

A backup of your personal dictionary is a file you create and save wherever you choose: the app does not send it anywhere.

Password fields are excluded from learning and show no suggestions. Fields that ask not to receive personalized suggestions are excluded from learning.

A Full privacy mode disables learning and the use of personal data entirely.

Permissions

  • Vibrate (VIBRATE): haptic feedback on key press only.
  • Contacts (READ_CONTACTS, optional): used only when you start the "Import contacts"

feature, to add names to your personal dictionary. Names are read and processed on-device only and never transmitted. If you don't use this feature, the app never accesses your contacts.

  • Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO, optional): used only for Voice dictation, when you tap the

microphone. Recognition runs through Android's on-device speech service (Android 13 and later): the app does not record, store or send the audio. If you don't use dictation, the app never accesses the microphone. Online recognition (optional, with consent). If the language you dictate in is not available on the device, the keyboard asks whether to use the phone's online speech recognition (for example Google's). Only if you accept, and only for that language, the audio is processed by that system service under its provider's privacy policy: the app does not record or store it and never sends it to us. You can withdraw consent in Settings → Privacy and data.

  • Network (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE): only to download the language packs you choose.
  • Google Play billing (com.android.vending.BILLING): only for the in-app purchase.

Network

The app sends no usage data. The only optional network uses are downloading language packs (additional dictionaries) from our server over HTTPS, and the "KT9 Pro" in-app purchase, handled entirely by Google Play. No personal or typing data is ever sent.

For completeness: the Google Play Billing library ships Google telemetry components about the payment SDK itself, active even if you never buy anything. They are part of Google's library, were not added by us and have no access to what you type.

In-app purchases

"KT9 Pro" is a one-time purchase that unlocks optional features: premium themes and theme customization, customizable keys and a customizable toolbar, multilingual suggestions and automatic language detection, contact import. Everything else in the keyboard is free. There is no free trial. Payment and ownership checks go through Google Play Billing: the app never receives or stores any payment data. The unlock state is stored locally only.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 and collects no data from any user.
